“Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.” – Miles Kington
Look at this little pumpkin butt.
I just love that she helps me in the garden. ❤
And I love that she enjoys gardening as much as I do … 😍
Today we’re making Caprese Skewers as an appetizer for a party we’re hosting. I think there’s cherry tomatoes in the basket…. we were picking other veggies too – we usually come out with a small bounty!

This might be my FAVORITE appetizer to make. Fresh tomatoes, sweet basil, creamy delicious cheese.. and a tangy glaze!
I’ve been making it since I was younger….
Like “before I had Owen” young….
Discovered while bartending at a Wine and Blues bar in Port Townsend, Washington….
At the veryyy tip of the Northwestern Peninsula….
On hiatus with my best friend Jessica.
But that’s a story for another time. 🙂

This is my SECRET INGREDIENT!!^^
I guess it’s not a secret if you can find it in the olive oil section at your local grocery store (King Soopers in Colorado). It’s a balsamic reduction and it’s toooo dieee forrrrrr.
On a regular toothpick or a fancy skewer toothpick (**sips diet pepsi with my pinky in the air**), skew one cherry tomato, one basil leaf (mine were folded in half) and a cube or ball of mozzarella cheese.
Then drizzle it with either balsamic vinegar, or the glaze I showed you up top. Simple to make and delicious to eat!! It’s also cheap and will impress your guests! Give it a try 🙂
