The small amount of work it takes to make these amazing cookies is nothing compared to the results at the end!
The Food Network’s Tyler Florence makes a traditional cookie batter using softened butter mixed with brown and white sugar, resulting in a fluffy center and crisp chewy edge.
I take them to the next level by using fine quality chocolate such as Ghirardelli premium baking chips! I’ve used this recipe for years and it remains a crowd pleaser at company potlucks and family gatherings. 😊

This really is the perfect chocolate chip cookie.

My Mom was feeling under the weather so I spent a couple days with her and while she slept I baked her cookies… for those familiar with my blog, you might notice this isn’t my kitchen… 😊

Start by mixing softened butter with white and brown sugar.
I couldn’t find her mixer so I did it by hand…

Once fluffy mix in the eggs and vanilla.

Then incorporate the dry mixture.

Mix until just combined.

And lastly fold in the chocolate chips.

I like to chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes before I form the cookies and bake.

Luckily my mom had a cookie scoop to streamline the process.

I under-bake them by a minute or so since they continue to “cook” after pulled out of the oven. By under-baking you’ll achieve a soft chewy center. 🙂

Ghirardelli chocolate is SO DELICIOUS! These cookies are also SO DELICIOUS!

Perfect name for these cookies! lol
